Films by ESOL Learners

Don’t know where to start with your film project? This selection of films made by ESOL learners is guaranteed to inspire…

As part of the EIF funded Welcome to the UK project led by Learning Unlimited (www.learningunlimited.co) learners in both Bangladesh and the UK have been involved in participatory video projects facilitated by InsightShare. During the film making process learners had the chance to  develop film-making skills, and to describe and reflect upon  their own experiences of settling in the UK.

Kallin Shellfish is a film by Inara Mihailova and Radoslaw Biereta. Produced by teacher, Gordon Wells, it provides a memorable insight into the lives of ESOL learners who live and work on the beautiful  Western Isles.

This inspirational short film documents students’ reaction to proposed funding cuts. It was made by students on a course at LLU. Their teacher was Karen Dudley and the film was produced by Sara Asadullah of Insightshare.

Impressions of Bristol is a short film made by KK and Alnour, students at City of Bristol College with the support of their teacher, Harriet Brennan.  In this absorbing film two asylum seekers reflect on their new lives.

Finally, Our Special Day was written and performed by ESOL learners in Shetland.
