Our final film is “New School” which is written, directed and performed in by EAL students at Anderson High School Shetland. Inspired by the students’ recollections of starting school in a new country, it shows that things aren’t always as scary as you think!
Our latest entry is from Kent. This week we are very proud to premiere “ESOL Spring 13” from the beginner’s class at the Victoria Adult Education Centre in Gravesend.
We have received submissions from all over the world! This one comes from sunny Spain and is from learner Susana Ferrer Renovell, facilitated by tutor, Richard Gresswell.
You can view these stunning films here:
“The Fallas Voices channel is a series of 4 films made by Susana Ferrer Renovell and family documenting the Fallas festival held in Valencia city and region, Spain. This digital storytelling reveals insider perspectives of the Fallas festival while engaging Susana and other English languge learners in personal, enjoyable and empowering processes of language learning. The creation of these remarkable films took place as part of an English langauge teaching project at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, Quart de Poblet, Valencia, Spain between February and June 2011.”
The first entry we uploaded was CRASH: an action packed rollercoaster of an adventure film submitted by 16-18 year old learners from Bradford College.
CRASH was made by: Mikus Bolsak (Latvia), Isidoro Valdes (Portugal- CapeVerde), Selam Ngussie (Kenya), Melat Fissela (Ehtiopia), Sala Uddin (Burma), Shraddha Bhattarai (Nepal) and Assif Abdulahi (Kenya). Tutor: Michaela Oltean
“The film was such a fun experience. We have a Facebook group and this is how we communicated ideas about the characters we were in the film. Our Tutor, Michaela, was so good to take us to the places we needed for our scenes”. Selam Ngussie
